Griffith Getting Ready For First Season With Sabres

Wallaceburg hockey star Seth Griffith is gearing up to play with the Buffalo Sabres.

Griffith signed onto a one-year contract with the NHL team at the beginning of the month.

"I think Buffalo was just a good situation for me and it was a right fit, so that's why I chose them... I'm excited to get the season going," he says.

Until the next season begins, Griffith has been training in the Athletes' Fuel Strength and Conditioning program with coach Colin Roeszler at Chatham-Kent's Erickson Arena.

"Colin has really helped me a lot here with my speed, my quickness, my agility, and also, injury prevention. It's a good mix of things here," explains Griffith.

Griffith selected his players for the local Fuel Cup draft at the Thames Campus arena on Wednesday. The Fuel Cup's best of six series starts July 31 and runs until August 17.

"It's just a good opportunity to see our local best players all on the same ice together," says Roeszler.

Roeszler says anyone is welcome to the games at the Thames Campus Arena in Chatham and admission is free.
