Stolen Gator Recovered In Chatham

Chatham-Kent police have recovered a Gator that was stolen from Tecumseh Park over the Canada Day long weekend.

Police say they found the Gator at around 11:30am Thursday after a woman called officers to let them know she found it sitting at the back of her property on Wellington St. E in Chatham.

The vehicle was reported stolen Monday morning after it went missing sometime between 9pm Sunday night and 9am Sunday morning.

A 54-year-old Chatham man was also arrested at the scene after officers allegedly spotted him sitting in the Gator and trying to start it when they arrived.

He was charged with possession of stolen property and taken into custody pending a bail hearing.
