Captain Stephanie Watkinson CK's Newest 'Feature Act'

A Salvation Army captain is being recognized for her outstanding community work within Chatham-Kent.

Chatham-Kent council members presented Stephanie Watkinson with an award at Monday night's council meeting, as part of the municipality's Feature Act Recognition Program.

Watkinson has served the Chatham-Kent community for nearly a decade, working as a community champion to tackle complex social needs, such as reducing homelessness, improving educational and employment outcomes, and meeting basic needs such as hunger.

Watkinson has recently been assigned to work as a Salvation Army captain in Barrie and will be moving there by the end of the month.

The Feature Act program was created to showcase different members and programs of the Chatham-Kent community that enhance the quality of life for business and citizens.  The program was created by the CK Community Leaders’ Cabinet in partnership with the Chatham-Kent Chamber of Commerce, and the Wallaceburg & District Chamber of Commerce.
