Drive Alive To Keep Seniors Active And Healthy

Chatham-Kent's Age Friendly Committee wants people of a certain age to know that they have your back.

A reincarnation of the committee is now fully functional.

Director of Public Health Teresa Bendo says the committee's goal is to promote healthy and active aging for all people.

"There are a number of initiatives within the plan that address things like civic engagement, social inclusion and outdoor spaces that let our seniors and others access services and programs," says Bendo.

Bendo says active seniors live healthier lives.

"We're looking to keep our seniors in the community active and socially engaged and contributing to this great community," Bendo says.

Bendo says elderly people are vital to our community and should live happy and social lives.

"You're important to this community and built this community and this committee is here to ensure that you have great access to all programs and services," says Bendo.
