Municipality Of CK Creates Online Infrastructure Tracking Tool

The municipality of Chatham-Kent has created a new interactive online tool for the public to track ongoing infrastructure projects.

CK Director of Engineering and Transportation Adam Sullo says the tool was created to keep citizens aware of what projects are going on around them.

"We just want to make sure that if there was a way that we could share the information for those that maybe don't have a chance to call in, or if people want to take a look and get regular updates, they would have a place to do that," explains Sullo.

Sullo says the idea of the tool is to show more long-term projects.

"Certainly there will be situations where our departments sometimes have to do emergency repairs to water mains or they'll be doing some culvert replacements... it's not necessarily to track all those individual items or instantaneous closures that do happen," he says.

The online infrastructure map is now available on Chatham-Kent's website.

There are more than 20 infrastructure projects taking place this year in Chatham-Kent.
