Captain Stephanie Watkinson Leaving Chatham-Kent

After serving the community in Chatham-Kent for almost a decade, Salvation Army Captain Stephanie Watkinson is being called away to serve another area.

Watkinson says she's spent more time here than past captains.

"We've been in Chatham-Kent [for] actually nine years and for the Salvation Army -- that's a long appointment. We've absolutely loved our time here and loved the community," says the captain.

She says she will always have fond memories of her time spent in Chatham-Kent.

"We're definitely leaving a part of our heart [here]. There's so many wonderful people that we have met, encountered, worked with, [and] formed relationships with. We're really going to miss the community," says Watkinson.

Captain Stephanie Watkinson works with different services and groups to serve the community and tackle issues like poverty.

She has been assigned to work as a captain in Barrie and will be moving there at the end of June.
