Chatham Girl Sells Lemonade for Ronald McDonald House

A Chatham elementary school student raised money for the Ronald McDonald House by selling lemonade.

Libby Attewell explains how she came up with the idea:

" When I was in grade 1 they gave us a card on "McHappy Day" with someone named Sofia on [it] and she had cancer and we just wanted to raise some money and do something good," says Attewell.

Libby and her mother say they've raised over $1,700 and have sold over 150 cups of lemonade.

The lemonade stand was open Saturday and Sunday at Whippoorwill Crescent in Chatham.

Attewell says the money will go towards the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House, hopefully making it less expensive for them.

The Ronald McDonald House is a charitable organization in Southwestern Ontario that provides a place of care for families and their ill or injured children.
