The Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit wants to better engage with the community but officials admit it's going to be challenging.
The health unit is working on a five year strategy that includes better education, planning, evaluation and communication.
Details are still being worked out but the plan aims to elevate Chatham-Kent to be the healthiest and safest community and address the indigenous gap that exists.
The local health unit also implementing new standards and protocols for more accountability, more reporting to the province and better ties with the Erie St. Clair Local Health Integration Network.
