A Chatham-Kent police report shows emergency phone calls in the area went down last year compared to 2015.
The communication centre answered almost 165,000 calls, which is a 5% decrease.
However, computer aided dispatch increased by 12%.
Police officials say phone calls have steadily decreased over the last decade.
Texting 911 is now available in Chatham-Kent.
