Woman Recovering After Being Shot With Pellet

Police are investigating after a woman was shot in the face with a pellet.

It happened on Tuesday just after 3pm.

Officers got calls about a group of young people in the green space area of Indian Creek Rd. W near John McGregor Secondary School shooting at one another with what appeared to be pellet guns, but when they arrived, the group was already gone.

The female victim, who also called police, was driving by when she was hit by one of the pellets.

She suffered a large welt just below her left eye, but did not require medical attention. When the woman got home, she found a small white pellet in the vehicle that appeared to have been shot from an Airsoft gun.

Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the young people.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Fraser Curtis at fraserc@chatham-kent.ca or at 519-436-6600 ext #87280. Anonymous callers may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) and may be eligible for a cash reward.
