Pie And Tart Shells Recalled

A flour recall that started back in March has expanded into pie and tart shells that were sold in London, St. Thomas, and Chatham.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says the shells are being recalled because of concerns about a possible E. coli contamination.

The notice includes 10 inch pie shells that were sold at Briwood Farm Market in St. Thomas in March and April 2017 and 2 inch unsweetened tart shells that were sold at Lynn's Bakery and Deli in London between December 23, 2016 and April 27, 2017.

The recall also includes 2 inch unsweetened tart shells that were sold in packs of 40 at Lenover's Quality Meats on Park Ave. E in Chatham between February 8, 2017 and April 27, 2017.

There have been reported illnesses associated with flour at the centre of the recall, but at this point, there have not been any confirmed illnesses associated with the products listed above.

Symptoms of E. coli infection can include nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramping, fever, and diarrhea.
