Free Clotheslines Boost Energy Savings

Saving energy this summer just got a little easier thanks to Entegrus.

The utility company has 2,000 40 ft retractable clotheslines to give away to their electricity customers, as part of a local conservation program with Save On Energy.

"The average home and spend $15-$20 a month from using their dryer," says Sarah Regnier, corporate communication specialist at Entegrus. "So this program provides an opportunity for savings."

Regnier says there are lots of benefits to using a clothesline.

"Definitely the energy savings, and one thing about the clothesline is that it can be used indoors or outdoors. So you could use this year-round depending on where you want to set the clothesline up," she says.

Regnier encourages customers to register soon as they've already had over 600 people apply.
