Kingston Park in Chatham was hopping with families on Easter Monday.
A large crowd attended the first annual Chatham-Kent First Responders Easter Egg Hunt.
There was lots of candy, prizes, face painting, fire trucks and a playground.
OPP Media Relations Officer Jay Denorer says the event grew from an idea.

"We host every year 'Shop With a Cop' and at our last committee meeting somebody brought up the idea of 'Hop With A Cop' and it was just an idea that got kicked around. Nobody took it seriously and then I was talking with my sergeant Brian Knowler and said 'why don't we do an Easter event?' I see nothing planned for Chatham-Kent," says Denorer.
The Easter 'Egg'stravaganza' is a free community event hosted by Chatham-Kent OPP, Police, Fire and Emergency Services, Medavie EMS and the United Way.
Denorer says another Easter egg hunt is already being planned.
"We're probably going to continue every year," he says. "We're looking this year in Chatham-Kent. I don't know of any other events in the City of Chatham. So, if this was the event, we're going to continue every year."
Chatham-Kent Police Media Relations Officer Kelly Helbin says people went home with four bicycles and lots of candy.
"One of our C-PIC ladies, Chris, she made bigger candy bouquets. She's a very creative woman and those along with the candy have stuffed animals in them," Helbin says.
