CK Cyber Pack Gets Ready For Another Competition

The CK Cyber Pack is another step closer to competing at the Provincial Championship in Mississauga.

The team competed in a qualifying event in Waterloo this past weekend, where they came in 15th place out of 31 teams.

Lead electrical and mechanical student Chris St. Amand says they hit a bit of a snag at the beginning of the competition, but were able to recover thanks to fellow competitors.

"In the beginning we had a problem with our lifting mechanism and we ended up fixing that by getting another team to donate a VersaPlanetary Gearbox," he says. "After they donated that, our lifting became very consistent."

In addition to coming in 15th place, the team also won the safety award.

Now, the CK Cyber Pack is preparing for another competition in Windsor.

St. Amand says the team has yet to win a regional event but they're going into the next event hopeful.

The CK Cyber Pack will compete at the University of Windsor, St. Denis Centre from 10am-6pm on March 31 and from 9am-5pm on April 1.
