CK Thanks Those Who Help Syrian RefugeesMarch 19, 2017 6:04am
Chatham-Kent is celebrating individuals and groups who are helping make our municipality a welcoming community for Syrian refugees.
The sponsors will be thanked April 10th at 6pm at Council Chambers.
Community leaders say they make humanitarian commitments of their personal time, energy and money to assist individuals or families in need.
The groups include Chatham Catholic Parishes, Dresden Christian Reformed Church, Chatham-Kent Muslim Association, Tilbury Syrian Refugee Committee and the Ridgetown Refugee Committee.
Civic leaders say each of these groups have welcomed children and adults to the community by helping them integrate into life in Chatham-Kent and Canada.
