Maroons Take 1-0 Lead Into London

The Chatham Maroons will hit the road for Game 2 of their second-round playoff series.

They'll be in London Saturday night, taking on the Nationals with a 1-0 series lead.

Maroons forward Bobby Harrison knows they have their work cut out for them if they're going to come away with another win.

"We've got to match their speed," says Harrison. "They've got some small guys who are really good and agile -- we need to keep on that."

One of the other keys for the Maroons will be staying out of the penalty box.

London's only goal in Game 1 was on the powerplay and the Nationals are scoring on more than 30% of their chances with the man advantage so far in the playoffs.

The Maroons took 11 penalties -- including two majors -- racking up 30 PIMs to London's 16 PIMs on eight infractions in the first game of their conference semifinal.

Even if both teams commit to playing more disciplined hockey in Game 2, it should still continue to be a physical series.

"There are definitely a couple of rivalries here that we developed over the regular season," says Harrison. "We've built up some hate for each other."

Puck drop is set for 7:30pm at the Western Fair Community Centre in London.
