Wesley-Jakubec Feud Continues

Water Wells First has removed a poll and other materials from its website and Facebook page referencing Chatham-Kent Councillor Jeff Wesley.

The move was made in response to a threat of legal action made by the councilor last week, toward Water Wells First spokesperson Kevin Jakubec.

However, Wesley says the removal of the online materials is not good enough until Jakubec fully and publicly withdraws, what Wesley calls, false and defamatory comments about him. Wesley is also demanding that Jakubec  publicly take back the "shame award" he was given for what Jakubec calls misleading the public.

Jakubec says he has issued Wesley apology and did not mean to hurt the councillor or his family. The Water Wells First official goes onto say that he will be making a statement during group's meeting Tuesday night, but it is unclear what it will be.

Wesley has retained a lawyer and wants Jakubec to retract “defamatory comments” about the councilor, that were made to the Wallaceburg Courier Press. Jakubec was given written notice dated March 1, stating that if he does not retract his statements and publicly apologize, he will be facing a further legal action.
