Family Day Closures in Chatham-Kent

Several services in Chatham-Kent are altered or shut down for the Family Day holiday.

Those include healthcare services offered at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.

Routine X-rays, electro-cardiograms and ultrasounds will not be available.

Ambulatory Care Services, Out-Patient Rehabilitation Services, Out-Patient Laboratory Services, Pre-Surgical Screening Services, the Diabetes Education Centre, the Pulmonary Function Lab, Health Records and Patient Appointment Offices will also be closed.

So will the Chatham-Kent Mental Health and Addictions Program Out-Patient Department, Elston Pharmacy, the Oncology/Chemotherapy Department and the Business Office and Cashier's Office.

As always, the Emergency Department is open 24/7.

There are also a number of municipal services that are being affected by the holiday, including garbage and recycling collection.

Garbage and recycling services in Chatham-Kent will be pushed back one day for the entire week for all areas that receive curbside collection. The Harwich Transfer Station and the Wallaceburg Transfer Station are also closed for the day.

Licensing services, the Chatham Cultural Centre Box Office, Economic Development Services, and CK Transit are also shut down for the holiday.

A few municipal buildings are open, though.

Arenas are open for regular bookings and the Blenheim Gable Rees Rotary Pool and the Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool are offering free Family Swims from 10:30am to 12pm and again from 1pm to 2:30pm.

Public libraries will also be operating on regularly scheduled hours.
