A blaze at a vacant residence in Wallaceburg has sparked an investigation.
Chatham-Kent fire officials say on Saturday around 2:49pm, crews were called out to a structure fire on Nelson St.
No one was living in the single-storey residence.
Fire crews arrived on scene shortly after the fire was called in, preventing the flames from spreading to houses in the surrounding area.
Damage is estimated somewhere between $35,000 and $40,000.
The Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management has been notified as a cause remains undetermined.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
Firefighters will be returning to the scene Sunday afternoon as part of their after fire reassurance campaign.
