The Victim Services of Chatham-Kent Looking For Help

Volunteers are needed at the Victim Services of Chatham-Kent.

Coordinator Jennifer Richmond says "they're always looking to train people".

The group handles everything from murder to hate crimes and human trafficking and helps with emotional support and counselling along with covering expenses like crime scene clean-up and funeral costs after a violent crime.

Services are free and can be accessed 24/7 at 519-436-6630.

Richmond says Chatham-Kent doesn't see a lot of human trafficking cases "because Chatham-Kent is part the 401 corridor between Toronto and London" but the service is always prepared to deal with it.
