Boxing Day Closures In CK

With Christmas falling on a Sunday this year, some Boxing Day closures will extend into the week for certain Chatham-Kent services.

Municipal offices are closed from Monday December 26 to December 28, libraries will also be closed Monday and Tuesday. All arenas, except for Chatham Memorial and the Thames Campus Arena, will be closed. The public pools in Blenheim and Wallaceburg are also closed on Boxing Day, and CK transit services will not operate.

Garbage and recycling collection will not be altered this week, but the Harwich Transfer Station will be closed December 26, 27 and 29. Wallaceburg's transfer station will be closed Monday and Tuesday. Public Works yards and stations in Chatham, Wallaceburg, Harwich, Romney, Camden, Dover, Bothwell, Ridgetown and Tilbury are accepting Christmas trees from residents free of charge.

The Chatham-Kent Public Utilities Commission office will be closed December 26, 27 and 30. Public Health Clinic Services on King St. will be closed Monday and Tuesday, and will resume regular business hours on December 28.

Chatham-Kent's Provincial Offences Court will be closed until January 2, 2017, resuming operations on Tuesday January 3. Fine payments can be made online at paytickets.ca or at any CK Service Centre. Non-cash payments can be left in the court drop box on Communication Rd.

The Health and Family Services Building will be closed on December 26 and 27. This also includes employment and social services, housing services, children's services and public health offices.

At the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, routine x-rays, EKGs and ultrasounds will not be available either Monday or Tuesday. Out-patient rahab services at both campuses will also not be offered on those days. The Pulmonary Function Lab at the Chatham campus is closed, and won't reopen until January 3. The Sydenham campus' lab will be closed startind December 29 through to January 3.

CK's Mental Health and Addictions Program out-patient department is closed until January 2, 2017, as well as out-patient lab services. The Elsston Pharmacy will reopen between December 28 and 30 from 9am to 2pm, before closing again until December 3.

The Sydenham Campus Ambulatory Care Department will be closed on December 27 and 29. The CKHA's Emergency Departments are open 24 hours a day.
