Workers at the Chatham Physiotherapy Clinic are eager to get back to work, just days after a fire ripped through their building.
Officials with the clinic have been working all weekend, and will be offering their services at 857 Grand Ave. W starting Monday. Their original Queen St. location was torched in a late-night fire on Friday.
"We see a lot of serious cases post-operatively," says Physiotherapist John Spirou. "These patients can't wait more than a week, so we need to be able to start up right away."
Spirou says none of their equipment can be salvaged from Friday's fire. But, after speaking with a group in Toronto, he's confident they'll receive new equipment in time for their November 21 opening.
"We're very thankful for the support. I think one of the main things for us is to make sure the person that was hurt is okay. The second piece is to start up the practice so these folks can start physiotherapy again," says Spirou.
Spirou says they'll likely work out of the new space for up to ten months, with plans to eventually move back to Queen St.
