Getting A 'Patton' The Back

In the midst of the Chatham Maroons' ten game winning streak and wild OT finishers, it can be easy to overlook Lucas Patton's perfect record since joining the team.

Patton joined the team not long after number one goaltender Brendan Johnston went down with a lower-body injury.

Since being reassigned from the Windsor Spitfires, goaltender Patton has posted a 6-0-0-0 record, along with a 2.53 GAA and .930 save percentage. The last two contests have skewed his stats slightly, as he allowed just five goals through his first four games.

"Not all the success can be on my shoulders, my team has played really well in front of me. Right now I'm just trying to play my game," says Patton.

All players are looking for their chance to move to the next level, but Patton is content with where he is if he keeps getting playing time.

"I try to make the next level whenever I can, but right now I'm just looking to get some games in playing with Chatham, and hopefully I have a good showing," says Patton.

The Maroons go for their 11th-straight win Friday as they take on St. Mary's. Puck drop is set for 7:30pm.
