UPDATE: 401 Reopened After Transport Rollover

The eastbound Hwy. 401 is back open between Tilbury and Chatham after crews worked to remove a transport truck that rolled onto its side near Drake Rd.

Police say when the tractor trailer tipped over, it came to rest in the ditch, partially blocking the eastbound passing lane as well.

Two people who were inside the cab of the transport truck at the time of the crash were taken to the hospital in Chatham and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The 32-year-old Quebec man who was behind the wheel at the time of the collision is charged with careless driving.

Police say the eastbound lanes of the Hwy. 401 between Queens Line in Tilbury and Bloomfield Rd. in Chatham have reopened after being closed for nearly ten hours. Motorists should still expect delays as traffic works its way through the area.
