Hip Broadcast Almost Ready To Go

The screen is booked and the funds are almost in place for a showing of the Tragically Hip's final concert in Chatham's Tecumseh Park one week from Saturday.

Organizer Ryan Doyle says he just needs to raise another $2,000 to cover the cost of putting on the show.

"It seems to be whenever you do a post, you get a little bit and then nothing until you get the next post," says Doyle. "The GoFundMe page came along well, we're at over $2,000 with just that alone and then a number of businesses have come on."

One of the biggest attractions will be the massive screen that will be showing the concert.

"The screen has been booked," says Doyle. "It is 22.4 ft wide by 12.6 ft tall -- so it will be the biggest LED screen Chatham-Kent has ever seen."

Before the Hip concert starts, a few local bands will take the stage with all of the proceeds from the event going to charity.

The Hip broadcast on the big screen would follow that from 8:30pm until 11:30pm.

Doyle has a GoFundMe page set up to help support the event. You can find that page here.
