The Hottest Ticket In Town

The Willow Ridge Golf & Country Club in Blenheim will soon get a taste of Vegas during The Fabulous Festival of Golf.

The Children's Treatment Centre Foundation is hosting a Vegas themed golf tournament in September and tickets are selling fast.

Executive Director of the foundation Mike Genge says there are about 36 teams, which makes about 144 golfers. However, there's only eight spots left, but the tickets don't come cheap.

"It's a $750 day but you don't touch your wallet all day," says Genge. "No one will ask you to buy 50/50 tickets, no one will ask you to buy raffle prizes, no one will ask you to buy door prizes - everything is included."

Genge says attendees will also receive a $400 tax receipt as well as the opportunity to win some prizes - after all what would Vegas be without a little luxury.

Throughout the golf course there will be gambling opportunities and at the end of the night the chips won will be turned into raffle tickets.

"We'll have 13 incredible door prizes," says Genge. "Trips all over North America and on top of that one person will walk away with a brand new 2016 mustang."

The list of prizes doesn't end there. For those particularly good at golf, Genge says there will also be a hole-in-one contest.

"The winner can win an F-150, we have a trip to Vegas and the grand prize(there are three grand prizes) is a trip to all four major golf tournaments in the world," says Genge.

He says organizers were able to pull together their contacts in order to provide these types of prizes, and these organizers are no stranger to planning fundraisers.

The golf tournament stems from The Festival of Giving.

"We decided to do another event where like The Festival of Giving it's over the top," says Genge. "You have 18 holes of entertainment."

After a full day of golfing, gambling and a Vegas styled dinner Genge says there will be an after party where the band Face for Radio will be playing. He says the after party is open to members of the community at $20 per person.

Genge says they are still looking for a few volunteers to help out with the event. Anyone interested can call Shelby Sanchuk at The Children's Treatment Centre.
