Chatham-Kent Flight Fest is already off the ground, but the main attraction is taking place on Saturday at the Chatham airport.
Event organizer Bruce Davidson says they'll have a Second World War-era bomber on display.
The group was planning to have a DC-3 Dakota airplane come in, but it had a mechanical failure that will take eight weeks to get fixed.
Davidson says in its place, and on short notice, they were able to arrange for a 1943 North American B-25D Mitchell bomber called Yankee Warrior to fly in from the Yankee Air Museum in Michigan.
"The B-25 will be offering rides, but it's not cheap -- they're $400-US apiece, but it's the opportunity of a lifetime," says Davidson. "This particular airplane is a war veteran."
Davidson says Yankee Warrior flew eight combat missions over Italy during WWII, adding that while 10,000 B-25 bombers were built, this is one of only two airplanes of its kind that is still flight-worthy.
C-K Flight Fest will also be hosting a de Havilland Vampire, which was the Royal Canadian Air Force's first jet fighter.
Admission for the event is by donation.
The airplanes will be on display from 9am to 3pm, but the gates will open at 8am.
Remax will also be offering hot air balloon rides from 9 until noon.
