Downed Trees Knock Out Power

There's still a lot of clean-up that needs to be done in Chatham-Kent after last night's storm left hundreds of Thamesville and Bothwell residents in the dark.

Public Works regional manager Jerry Corso says the trees that were knocked down fell onto power lines.

"Our clean-up is all based on hydro," says Corso. "Once they allow us to go back in, we'll go clear it away and we'll leave the Hydro One crews to do their work -- our priority is to get the hydro back up."

Corso says he expects public works crews will be busy cleaning up the damage for at least the rest of the day, adding that work could spill over into next week.
