Pokémon GO: More Than Just A Game

Pokémon GO has come to Chatham-Kent and local businesses are using it to their advantage.

The Chatham-Kent Public Library, Chatham branch is hosting Pokémon Day.

Children Service Librarian Stefanie Lawson says on Thursday the library has a range of Pokémon themed activities.

"We're going to do Pokémon catching in the library, build your own Pokémon, bowling for Pokémon," says Lawson.

But that isn't all the library is doing to draw people in.

Lawson says the library has become a Pokéstop in the game so instead of having players use their data outside they're offering free Wi-Fi - but players will have to register for a library card first.

She says they have a plan on how to attract Pokémon to the Pokéstop which will ultimately bring in more people.

"We're dropping lures , which is something in the game that draws Pokémon to a Pokéstop," says Lawson.

She says they'll start dropping lures at 1:30pm and 4pm on July 21.
