Residents To Pay Slightly More For Natural Gas

Union Gas customers will see an increase of about 3 per cent of their natural gas bill, starting July 1.

The company says the Ontario Energy Board recently approved an annual net increase of about $22 for customers in southern Ontario.

The rate changes reflect an increase in the market prices Union Gas expects to pay for natural gas supplies for the next year.

The hike also covers the difference between the forcasted market price for natural gas, transportation services, and the actual cost.

Officials maintain you can still realize both money and energy savings by reducing your hot water use, intalling a programmable thermostat, maintaining your furnace, doing an energy audit, and preventing air leakage.
