Two Barns Burn Overnight

Chatham-Kent police are appealing to the public for help as they investigate a pair of barn fires.

Police say officers responded to the first one at around 11pm last night on Broad Line in Tupperville.

During their investigation, police determined there was about $60,000 worth of equipment inside the structure at the time of the blaze. All of that equipment was destroyed by the fire.

Officers say they responded to a second barn fire at around 1am this morning on Huff Side Rd. in Thamesville. The second barn was also destroyed by fire.

Investigators say emergency personnel were able to determine that the barn in Thamesville was full of old lumber at the time. Officials didn't have any information on a damage estimate for the second blaze.

At this point, police don't have any word on what caused either of the fires.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
