Maroons Down Legionnaires 5-3

The Chatham Maroons earned their fifth straight win with a 5-3 victory over the Sarnia Legionnaires on Thursday.

The Maroons took a 3-1 advantage in the first period and held the lead through a scoreless second. Both teams scored twice in the final frame to allow Chatham to retain their two goal lead for the win.

Foward Devin Panzeca scored two his first two goals as a Maroon after coming from the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League. He says he's really embraced the way the Maroons play as a team.

"I really like their style on the penalty kill, I love being aggressive. It's a big change from the last team I was on where we more settled back," he says. "It took a couple games to get into it, but now that I'm starting to feel it a bit, I feel like I'll get on the score sheet more and more."

The Maroons return to the ice on Sunday to take on the Leamington Flyers at 7pm.
