Thamesville Project Gets Cash Injection

The splash pad project at Thamesville's Ferguson Park is receiving a financial boost.

The anti-bullying group Make Children Better Now has donated $20,000 to the endeavor.

Chairperson Mike Neuts says project organizers approached his group for support.

"The project keeps kids occupied, positive life experiences," says Neuts. "And it puts smiles on their faces."

Neuts says they were approached three years ago about possible interest but wanted to wait so they could make a substantial donation.

The project has received a number of donations from multiple groups, with a fundraising goal in the range of $180,000, with construction expected to start in the spring.
