Woman Appeals For Return Of Mother's Ashes

A distraught Sarnia woman is making an urgent public appeal for the return of her mother's ashes.

A jewellery chest and a green velvet bag containing a box were stolen when a home facing Hwy. 402 between Indian Rd. and Murphy Rd. was broken into last Saturday.

City police Constable Les Jones says a large amount of jewellery was taken, but the woman is most concerned about the box that contained her late mother's remains.

The woman contacted BlackburnNews.com asking for help. She says her mother did not want her ashes placed in an urn.

Constable Jones is appealing to those responsible for the theft to call Crime Stoppers and leave the ashes at a location where they can be retrieved by police.

Anyone with information about the box and green velvet bag is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
