Conservative incumbent Bev Shipley is returning to Ottawa as the MP for Lambton-Kent-Middlesex, only this time not as part of the government.
The Liberals have won a majority of the seats in parliament and will look to form the next government, putting the Conservatives in the role of Official Opposition.
Shipley doesn't expect it will change much for him.
"I know that I will continue to work and support my constituents the way that I always have," says Shipley, expecting he'll be able to be an effective MP from the opposition benches. "I've been very fortunate to represent Lambton-Kent-Middlesex and also I've worked hard to build a relationship across the floor with all Members of Parliament and I want to continue to do that."
Shipley held the riding with the unofficial count giving him nearly 70% support.
Liberal Ken Filson finished a distant second with the NDP's Rex Isaac finishing an even more distant third while Jim Johnston for the Green Party rounded out the candidates.
