A 43-year-old mother and her 24-year old daughter are accused of trying to smuggle 22-pounds of marijuana into the US.
Customs and border protection officials say the two were in a car crossing the Ambassador Bridge last Thursday.
The agent at the booth became suspicious and referred the vehicle to secondary inspection. There, agents found 20 bundles of suspected marijuana hidden throughout the vehicle.
The driver and passenger were both turned over to US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents for further investigation.
