Round Two For Football Clinics

The Chatham-Kent Cougars organization is holding the second of two football clinics tonight in Chatham.

"We're going to do the safety of tackling, the safety of blocking, we're going to go through the three-point stance and getting into the football position," says president Sel Jordan. "We're going to have a quarterback station, a catching station, a kicking station, a blocking station, and a linebacker station."

The organization views it as a good opportunity for kids to get off the couch and give the sport a try.

"They'll have a lot of fun and after that they can tell their parents, 'I want to play minor football,' or 'It's not for me,'" says Jordan.

The clinic and fall registration, as well as cheerleader registration, run from 5:30-7:30pm at Chatham-Kent Secondary School. The clinic costs $20 while fall registration is $195.
