Pkwy. Speed Limit Changes Coming

The Ministry of Transportation confirms plans to increase the speed limit along a stretch of the westbound Rt. Hon. Herb Gray Pkwy.

Right now the speed limit on Hwy. 401 between Huron Church Ln. and exit east of Labelle St. is 60km/hr.

Early next week, it'll be increased to 100 km/hr to Huron Church Ln. where it will drop to 80km/hr. At Pulford St., it'll drop again to 60km/hr.

In an email to BlackburnNews.com, manager of product delivery Garfield Dales says, "public safety is our top priority, and the Ministry of Transportation was waiting for the bulk of paving work on Hwy. 3 to be completed."

The date of the change still has to be confirmed with private sector partners on the Pkwy. The work also depends on the weather. Once the date is picked, the information will be shared on the Ministry's Twitter feed, @OntMinTransport, and the signs will be installed overnight.
