New Democrat candidates in both Chatham-Kent Leamington and Lambton-Kent Middlesex believe they can sense a desire for change among voters.
Tony Walsh says he has heard that in his travels through Chatham-Kent Essex. "What I'm hearing is after nearly a decade of Steven Harper middle class families are working harder but they can't get ahead," he says. In Lambton-Kent Middlesex Rex Isaac says he is getting a warm reception when he meets people.
"The tone has been very positive, it's been very good," he says. "We see a lot of people who are looking for change right now."
Walsh believes his time as a co-chair of the Chatham-Kent United Way is good preparation for the campaign.
Isaac was first elected to Walpole Island Band Council in 2008 and says he has a lot of experience dealing with issues ranging from health, to education, economic development and the environment.
