CK Native Wins Widdifield Cup

Local golfer Brooke MacKinnon has taken the two day Widdifield Cup in the seventh event of the Jamieson Junior Tour at Kingsville Golf Club.

The Chatham native won the cup in the Junior Girls Division with a 162 total, while Jasmine Ly led the field in Kingsville with a 78.

In the Junior Boys division,  Aaron Fisk prevailed in the Widdifield Cup with a 147 total, edging Thomas DeMarco of Essex by a single stroke. Liam Fisk of Essex and David Nunes of Beach Grove tied at Kingsville Golf Club with two over 74, forcing a playoff. Nunes took the title on the second playoff hole making a nice up and down for par.

In the Collegiate Men's Division, Kingsville native Jordan Hutchings of Simon Fraser University took the title with a two under 70, edging Michigan Wolverine Bryce Evon by a single stroke. Sara Holland of the University of Western Ontario took the Collegiate Women’s division with an 82, four better than Emily Stadder of the University of Windsor.

The first leg of the Widdifield Cup was played at Ridgetown Golf Club on Wednesday.
