$11-Million Invested Into Point Pelee

The federal government is investing $11-million dollars into six infrastructure projects at Point Pelee National Park.

The money will pay for six kilometers of new bike trails, dunes and savanna habitat restoration, beach renewal, and updating the visitor's centre.

Field Unit Superintendent Jarred Picher says $840,000 will also be spent to update the parks overnight accommodations. "How do we accommodate the needs of various different user groups, such as the group campaign, and how do we offer perhaps more of an innovative way of camping at Point Pelee?"

Some of the projects will begin right away, with others slated to be completed by next spring.
