Waiting For The Writ To Drop

Chatham-Kent-Essex MP Dave Van Kesteren plans to stay busy this summer, but he's not hitting the campaign trail just yet.

The Conservative MP knows a federal election will be called this fall, but he's still waiting for it to be official.

"I'll hold my coffee and teas -- those have been very impactful, I'll be speaking with businesses, and the minister of trade will be coming to Chatham," says Van Kesteren. "Most of my duties will just be as a member of parliament -- when the writ is dropped, then we're off to the races."

Van Kesteren says the riding association will take care of most of the work until the election campaign officially starts up.
