Police Threatened With A Knife

A 26-year-old Chatham man faces drug and weapons charges after a day of partying took a turn for the worse.

Chatham-Kent police say a man got into an argument with his party partner around 8:30pm Tuesday and left his apartment.

When he returned, he allegedly damaged the front door of the building and smashed a beer bottle in the lobby. Back in his apartment, he's accused of trashing the unit during an argument with his wife.

Officers arrived, and the man allegedly grabbed a knife off the kitchen counter and threatened the officer. He put it away when the officer ordered him too. During his arrest, the officer also found some marijuana.

The man faces a charge of possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, drug possession and two counts of mischief under $5,000.
