PUC GM Announces Retirement

The Chatham-Kent PUC is looking for a new general manager.

Tom Kissner has announced his retirement for the end of the year.

He started with the municipality in 1999 and says the merger of water and wastewater services from various towns has worked well.

"I think the service is outstanding, there are some real cost efficiencies within water and waste water services when it comes to running under one commission," Kissner says. "In Chatham-Kent, the PUC has been very proactive and progressive (with) a number of upgrades done at our water treatment facilities and in the future, there will be a number of upgrades to be completed at our waste water facilities as well."

Kissner says a new metering strategy is a priority for the future.
