OLG Keeping Options Open In Dresden

The future of Dresden OLG slots remains unclear as the corporation goes through a major modernization period.

Ontario Lottery and Gaming is currently receving requests for proposals from private operators to perform the day-to-day operations of facilities throughout the province.

The OLG`s Jake Pastore says those service providers can suggest to expand or even move OLG venues they control. "The private operators, in their evaluations, are going to look at the opportunities in Dresden and potentially the rest of Chatham-Kent. They'll make that decision along with us and the municipality."

The OLG is currently selecting private operators for eastern Ontario, and there's no word on when RFP's will come out for our area. When they do decide on a provider, that operator will oversee a number of facilities, including the Dresden Slots and Western Fairgrounds.
