Chatham-Kent's mayor is hoping to draw more investments and possibly immigrants from South Korea.
Part of that included a visit from the Korean Consulate General.
"It's about continuing to move forward with the Korean businesses like Samsung and others that we've already been doing business with," says Mayor Randy Hope.
But while they talked about investments, they also had a chance to show off what life is like in Chatham-Kent, with the goal of attracting new residents.
"We talked about our school systems, we talked about our post-secondary education, we talked about the quality of life and the cost of living here -- and they were quite impressed," says Hope. "All they usually get to see is the big city life and they don't get to experience Chatham-Kent's life."
The Korean Consulate General also had a chance to watch the local ceremonies associated with the Pan Am Games Torch Relay in Chatham-Kent, which Hope says gave officials a chance to show off some of the local heritage and culture.
