Police Hiring Summer Students

Chatham-Kent police are staffing a number of teen employees to learn about their line of work.

Chatham-Kent students ages 15-18 with a clean criminal record are eligible for the program. It pays $11/hr and runs from the end of June to the end of August.

While the young workers won't be doing ride-alongs with police, Constable Renee Cowell says their experience will be diverse. "They will primarily be working with officers at headquarters, in the traffic unit and other specialty units within our police service."

Interested students can fill out an application and return it to Chatham-Kent police headquarters by June 12.
