A DNA sample has led to an arrest after a Chatham break-in.
Back on April 1, some tools were stolen from a garage in Chatham. Investigators were able to collect a sample from the scene and sent it off to the Centre of Forensic Sciences in Toronto for testing.
Police were contacted April 29 and informed the DNA matched that of a local man. Officers arrested the suspect yesterday on a pair of outstanding warrants and say he was also in possession of methamphetamine.
The 33-year-old Taylor Ave. resident has been charged with break and enter, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and drug possession. He was released with a future court date.
