MS Walk Still Seeking Support

The Chatham-Kent Chapter of the MS Society is still looking for more walkers and more donors to support its upcoming Mandarin MS Walk.

Local fundraising co-ordinator Jackie Putterman says they're hoping to raise $53,000 this year.

"We do some other smaller things, but this is the biggest source of revenue we have all year," says Putterman. "It stays right here locally and provides wheelchairs, walkers, and batteries for our clients - even special cutlery for people who have problems with their hands."

Putterman says they provide service for about 120 clients in the area, but she knows there are even more people diagnosed with MS who haven't asked for their help. This year's walk will take place on May 3, starting at John McGregor Secondary School in Chatham.
