Monitor Your Child's Online Activity

Chatham-Kent police are reminding parents to monitor their children's online activity after receiving a number of troubling reports already this year.

Police say in January alone, they received four separate reports of pictures or text messages sent by youth that were exploited in some way.

“Online bullying and ‘sexting’ is out there- it goes on 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year," says Chatham-Kent Police school liaison officer Constable Derek Shaw. "Parents need to be aware of what their child is doing online, especially when they are alone.”

To report child exploitation or for more information you can contact Chatham-Kent police or go to www.cybertip.ca.
